Last time on “Inside the WHUT video library clean-up”

WHUT’s RECOMMENDED “TO DO” CHECKLIST
new shelves to be placed in library-adjacent rooms A and B
retiling the linoleum floor
thermometer and humidity reader
removal of 2 metal shelves in the back of the library
new overhead light bulbs
new overhead light fixture covers

Continuing our WHUT’s recommended ‘to do’ checklist – if we want to “retile the linoleum floor” (or what we are going to do – a good sweep and stripping of the floor to make it shiny!)

We need to move these boxes of tapes that are crowding the room.

*I forgot to take a photo so please enjoy my “accurate” drawing of what the room looked like before.

NOTE: WHEN MOVING BOXES, SHELVES, OR ANYTHING THAT’S AN EIGHTH OF YOUR WEIGHT IF YOU DON’T NORMALLY LIFT**

** That’s just in my opinion on body-to-math ratio.

BE CAREFUL!

  1. Have a spot buddy!

To either help you lift that box or watch you lift that box.

2. Use dollies or hand carts.

There’s no way you can lift everything. Be sure to use dollies and carts when you can’t pick up that box of tapes.

3. Lift with your knees. Never your back!

Always lift with your knees!

And because we have limited space, our hallway by the video library now looks like this for the time being. I did make sure we didn’t block any safety exits and no one besides me really comes down here.

If we’re going to move these boxes, we might as well remove the shelves from the back.

And if there’s going to be this much space, we might as well place “new” shelves in the rooms.

(We just reassembled and cleaned the shelves that were from other rooms. Remember: metal rather wood!)

OR TURN A ROOM INTO A COOL NEW OFFICE WITH A COMPUTER***!

OK that’s done:

  1. New office!
  2. Set up shelves!
  3. Shiny floor!
